First Listen: 'Come Over' EP by Dirt House

Dirt House, an endearing designation for a childhood play place of pretending, dreaming, and imagining futures, is now the name of one of Omaha's newest songwriting projects.

Dirt House is Annie Dilocker, a long time contributor to Omaha talent, now offering up a piece of her own soul, backed by Miwi La Lupa (Team Love Records, Tigershrimp Records) on bass, Roger Lewis (The Good Life, Neva Dinova, Conduits) on drums, and Amy Carey Bishop (making musical debut) on violin.

Dirt House releases their first EP, "Come Over," on June 29th, a compilation of songs Annie started writing in late 2015. After a number of intimate performances during 2016, Annie recruited her friends Miwi and Roger, who had been encouraging her to start a band, for support. Also during the writing process, Annie could hear strings in her music and asked Amy, classically trained, to join the group. Jim Schroeder (UUVVWWZ, David Nance Group) has more recently lent his atmospheric guitar talents to both the EP and upcoming live shows.

An exciting intersection of lyric and sound, Dirt House lays strong, enduring beats that leave room for soft vocals and surprise harmonies that push back and steer the moment. Annie's tender but constant voice brings honest words of experience and emotion that spin beautiful scenarios and true feeling against bright swells of excitement and valleys of full instrumental play.
