First Listen: 'Vintage Sepia' by Virginia Kathryn

Join us Friday June 8th as we celebrate the release of 'Vintage Sepia', the debut album by guitarist, singer and songwriter Virgina Kathryn Gallner.

Virginia is well-known in Omaha and Council Bluffs as a highly talented performer of traditional folk and blues music, as well as for writing and performing her own songs and compositions.

Virginia is a recurring participant in the Silkroad Ensemble's Global Musician Workshop - a project initiated by Yo-Yo Ma bringing together musicians from around the world to perform traditional music in innovative ways - performing alongside artists such as Abigail Washburn, Aoife O'Donovan, Bruce Molsky, and others. She spoke and performed at TEDxUNO making a case for folk music "...as a medium through which contemporary stories can be told", creating myths, and exploring the human condition. Virginia is also a volunteer guitar instructor with Omaha Girls Rock and was a 2017 nominee in the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards' Best Blues Artist category.

Doors open at 7pm. Join us for drinks and a social hour before we sit down to enjoy the songs of 'Vintage Sepia'. Open discussion will be led by the artist following the listening. Advance copies of the album will be for sale. 'Vintage Sepia' is officially released June 14th with a release show at Reverb Lounge.
